Friendlies, Transfers and a Kallon Sighting!

Hi.  Alex, in Greece, and I, in the U.S., have both been inconvenienced by some of the non-football-related aspects of our lives this week, so I apologize for the unprecedented four day gap between posts.  I’m back now, Alex too in a day or so, and we’ll try to keep the site current.  You all know by now what’s happened to Greece in Euro 2008, so no sense in rubbing salt in the wound.  Back to AEK then.

It appears we’ve scheduled a friendly against the Bolton Wanderes of the English Premier League. It is set for Friday, August 8th. This is good stuff.

And finally, the extremely talented though hard to manage and somewhat elusive Mohamed Kallon figured prominently in Sierra Leone’s recent win over a humiliated and now understandably worried South Africa. On this blog, we don’t normally report on all the doings of former AEK players, but Kallon seems to have a particularly large following (based on teh number of Kallon search engine hits our site generates), so I though this recent match was worth mentioning, particularly since there has been no news — not even rumors — about a new club destination for the mercurial Mr. Kallon.
