Brand Beckham Now Officially Ubiquitous: AEK to Play the LA Galaxy!?!?!?

Golden Balls is everywhere, isn’t he?  But the one place I thought I could be sure I would never see Becks and Co. was at an AEK game.

Could this really happen?  It’s just a rumor right now, but check it!

UPDATE:  On February 29th, I got word that this is NOT going to happen.  I’m not suprised — this seemed too strange to be real.  The link above (“check it”) has been altered with several posts removed and a post from this week (Feb. 29)  being ante-dated to look like it was posted weeks ago rather than today. Not sure what that is about…

    [...] When I first reported this rumor earlier this month, I warned you that is was just that, a rumor.  As excited as I was at the prospect of AEK playing Golden Balls on U.S. soil, it just struck me as impossibly weird that AEK would travel to the U.S. to play a team from LA in Seattle.  Sure enough, the game has been “cancelled.”  Seattlegreeksfc.com, the folks that first broke this rumor, have updated their web-site by removing several posts from this month and posting a new update this week (though strangely, this new post is dated February 11 even though it did not appear until sometime this week) stating that the game is either cancelled or will be rescheduled.  If I were a betting man, I’d wager against “rescheduled.”  Oh well, the fantasy was fun while it lasted.
